Oil, condensate and NGL are shown in thousand barrels (rates as kb/d). Gas is million
standard cubic metres (MSm³/d). BOE follows the Sodir convention: 1000 Sm³ gas =
1 Sm³ oil equivalent. Annual and cumulative views use Mbbl, bcm and Mboe.
Known caveats
UK public PPRS field-level gas has an early Southern North Sea gap: dedicated dry-gas
fields report late (often 1983–1990s), so pre-1990 UK field-summed gas is understated.
In Gas + Annual view, the dashed UK national (DUKES) line
shows the full annual UK total and highlights this gap. Norway is complete from field
start-up (Ekofisk, June 1971).
Data currently runs to 2026-04; agencies update monthly.
A few UK fields have production but no polygon (Columba B/D/E, Duncan, Emerald, Tullich)
— they appear in search but not on the map.
Some fields have geometry but no public production (pre-production or pre-1975 UK).
Norway test production from discoveries is included in basin totals only.
How to use
Click a field to chart its history. Cmd/Ctrl-click (or enable “Add to selection”) to select up to 8 fields.
Reservoir polygons are selectable at all zoom levels. Circle markers are kept only for
fields without public polygon geometry.
With multiple fields (or basin UK + Norway), use Overlay to draw series on top of each other, or Stacked to sum them as stacked areas. In Stacked mode a Total line shows the overall sum.
Empty selection shows basin-wide UK + Norway totals.
Turn off “North Sea only” to include Norwegian Sea / Barents / West of Shetland fields.
Use the Basemap control for Light, Dark, Satellite, Ocean, or Streets tiles.
